Tokyo Day 12 - All Over the Place

Today we broke into much smaller groups and traveled around. I went with (what began as) Elaine, Kevin, Allie, Kyle, Annie to a long list of places that I didn't keep track of.

I don't remember where this was (Elaine was team leader at the time - let's be honest, she's always team leader because I get us lost).

This was in Naka-Meguro.


We also had a lovely tempura lunch and a nikuman (mine was curry) and onigiri (contents unknown) for dinner. Later on I offered to buy Kevin a Mega-Tamago from McDonald's, but he filed for a rain check.

Tokyo Day 11 - Scavenger Hunt, Harajuku, Meiji, Pizza, Shinjuku

The students spent the morning around on a scavenger hunt that took them sketching all over Tokyo in 4 groups. The first group to make it to Meiji Shrine (see Tokyo Day 02) won dinner.

We walked around Harajuku while we waited for the students.

Dove and Ray are such kidders.


There were plenty of Shinto Weddings going on in the shrine, so in addition to the wonderful processions that kept making their way through the area, you could also see stray kids dressed to the t.

Dove found sunglasses and a jacket in a used clothing store.

Here's the last group to come in. Naaman, Sara(h?), Falynn, Disney, Tamara (maybe Tamara isn't her name... I keep calling her that, but I might be wrong), Pyar and Emma.

The Meiji Museum.

Next to the Museum there was an zen yumi class that was really nice to see.




Every Sunday on the bridge from Harajuku to Meiji the local youth dress in cos-play and j-rock attire. It's an interesting sight to see.

Adterwords a few of walked to a Tintin shop that Dove found down a little alley.

Then we made our way to Shinjuku to poke around for a big bookstore.

Tokyo Day 10 - Imperial Gardens, Jinbocho Book District, Farewell Artists

This one's a day late - sorry, just to busy and too tired. We traveled to the Imperial Gardens instead of going to the graveyard. Turns out it might rain on the day we had planed the trip to the gardens (plus it might not be socially acceptable to wonder around the graveyard...)

Later on we took a trip to the antique book district. I forget the name of it (Jimbocho) and I'm too tired to look it up (I did look it up).

Farewell dinner with the artists. Three Sequential students and two Animation students were chosen to have dinner with the artists based on their work earlier in the day. Here's Amy, Kazu, Jason, and Ray.
